COOPERATIVES

Mihailo Avramović, Serbian publicist, scientist and MP is deemed to be the father of Serbian cooperatives. He founded the first agricultural cooperative in 1894 1894, and for several decades he presided over the Main Union of Serbian Agricultural Cooperatives.

The establishment of the first winegrowing cooperatives began after the relevant laws and resolutions were passed. Thus, in the town of Banja near Aranđelovac in 1903. . The Venčac viticultural cooperative was founded, and in Smederevo in 1909, the Smederevo viticultural cooperative was founded as well.
