ŽUPA VINJAK
Vinjak is a strong alcoholic drink produced by distilling wine and aging it in wooden vessels.
Dragoljub Marković, after completing his oenology studies in Bordeaux, 1920. . returns to his native Šljivovo, in the Aleksandrovac County, and builds a house-castle, 33 ha of vineyards and a new wine cellar on the family estate. In that cellar in 1921. . the first vinjak was created in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
Kosta Botunjac, the parish winemaker and painter, in addition to his excellent wines, brought his grandfather Dragoljub Marković’s vinjak back to the Serbian scene under the brand name “Botunjak”.
