HOTEL
“SERBIAN KING”

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Vračar cooperative bought the “Serbian King” hotel from the Veljković family and invested a lot of money in it.
After building additional two floors, the hotel had one hundred rooms with hot water bathrooms, several royal suites and an elegant lobby. Top management was brought in, several restaurants and bars were opened, top-quality kitchen wasestablished, with large garden and dining room with a terrace overlooking Kalemegdan. The transportation of guests was organized by the most expensive cars with elegantly uniformed chauffeurs.
The hotel was completely destroyed during the German bombing of Belgrade on April 6, 1941. .
