THE ADAMOVIĆ FAMILY
Having inherited the entrepreneurial spirit of his grandfather and father, Aleksandar Šandor Adamović planted about 60 ha of vineyards on Mt. Fruška Gora, and began producing and bottling “Karlovački bermet”.
In the period after phylloxera, in Novi Sad, in the part that is still called “the Adamović settlement”, he founded the largest vine nursery in Central Europe.
His son Aleksandar Saša Adamović, after graduating from high winemaking schools in Austria-Hungary and France, began to apply his newly acquired knowledge, and in Novi Sad’s “Fruškogorac” champagne factory, he began producing the first sparkling wine in the territory of today’s Serbia.
